Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev approved a new version of the state program “Economic development and innovation economy.” It includes the sub-program “Creation and development of the innovation center” Skolkovo “, which aim is to establish and guarantee the work of the center for research, development and commercialization of their results in priority areas. The sub-program is implemented for the period from 2013 to 2020. This was reported by the press service of the Russian government.

Total funding of the sub-program from the federal budget in the 2013-2020 will amount to 125.2 billion rubles, including 24.3 billion rubles in 2013, 23 billion rubles in 2014 and 18.3 billion rubles in 2015. These parameters of the financing of the state program correspond to the parameters of the federal budget for 2013 and the planned period of 2014 and 2015.

At least 50 percent of the cost of the creating of the innovation center “Skolkovo” is to come from private sources.

Total funding for the subprogram “The creation and development of the innovation center “Skolkovo” will amount to 502 billion rubles up to 2020, of which 135.6 billion rubles will be allocated from the federal budget. The remaining funds will be provided from extra-budgetary funding, the Minister of Economic Development Alexei Ulyukayev said.

In his turn, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, commenting on the financing of the program, said: “Our aim is to achieve the equal participation of the state and the private sector in the financing of innovative ideas giving an appropriate impetus to innovative projects. During next eight years it is planned to attract more than 100 billion rubles of non-governmental investments. There are budgetary funds that we are going to allocate. It’s a large sum of money, so the control over it must be regular and systematic, “- said Medvedev. It is also important to convert Russian scientific developments into successful business projects, he added.
