
Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived with an official visit to China.
According to presidential aide Yury Ushakov, the head of state will hold talks in Shanghai with Chinese President Xi Jinping, and on Wednesday he will take part in the summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
During the visit, Putin will also hold separate bilateral meetings with some of the participants of the summit, in particular, with Mongolian President Elbegdorj Tsakhia, Afghan President Hamid Karzai, President of Iran Hassan Rouhani.
There’s also planned a private meeting between Putin and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. “We plan to exchange views on all important global issues, including the situation in Ukraine,” – the head of state press secretary Dmitry Peskov told ITAR -TASS. In addition, Putin will meet with former Chinese President Jiang Zemin, who, according to Ushakov, the president “knows well”.
