Unilateral sanctions imposed by the U.S. against Russia are illegitimate, they are violating the norms of civilized interstate communication, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told ITAR-TASS.
“The U.S., taking this decision, were guided by groundless ideas on what is happening in Ukraine and around it, – said Ryabkov. – Washington did not do anything to improve the situation in Kiev. A new attempt to dictate and make ultimatums, undertaken by the American side against us, will not add the chances for a constructive solution of the problems. The requirements that the protesters in the eastern regions of Ukraine have, are legitimate. Rather than follow the path of pressure and attempts to impose certain moves, U.S. would better think about more substantive work with their clients in Kiev with the aim to normalize the situation.”
